In my opinion, the Performance Rank Committee had the most direct impact on the downfall of Enron because the employees were pressured to make illegal transactions. The calls of employees were used as evidence against Enron, and the traders’ transactions served as physical ways in which Enron was hurting the consumer. The FERC is supposed to function solely to protect the consumer, and when Enron failed to have any regard for energy users, they violated ethics and US penal codes leading to their bankruptcy. All in all, the Enron case changes the future of corporate America because it shows the importance of transparency.
